Gboard’s Hindi Transliteration (type “namaste”, get नमस्ते)
On Android, Gboard’s Hindi keyboard has a transliteration mode: type “namaste” in Latin and it becomes नमस्ते. Handy, but it guesses wrongly on names and rarer words, and it needs the keyboard installed and switched on. Conjuncts Are Hard to Thumb-Type
Devanagari conjuncts (क्ष, त्र, श्र) need a consonant + the halant (्) + another consonant — fiddly on a phone. On Kactyl you can see and tap the pieces and preview the fused shape before you send it.

The Browser Method (iPhone & Android)
